PRIVACY POLICY
REIWA Learning is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 and the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 and respects clients, staff and trainers' right to privacy. REIWA is a member-based organisation whose members are mainly real estate agencies and agents in Western Australia. REIWA is committed to complying with its obligation under the Privacy Act, and the associated National Privacy Principles (NPPs).
Information collected
Information may be collected from students upon initial enquiry in order to send out course information and is collected upon enrolment and during the provision of the training courses. REIWA Learning may use personal information to advise students of forthcoming events and training courses and for marketing and research purposes. Student surveys are conducted and information is collected on the training provided. This information is to assist REIWA Learning in improving the quality of the services and training and is treated confidentially.
- Collection of information is fair, lawful, unobtrusive and necessary for the organisation's functions. REIWA Learning advises clients, staff and trainers of the purpose for collecting information, how it is used and how they can gain access to their personal information held by REIWA Learning.
- Information is collected from potential students upon initial enquiry in order to send out course information.
- Information may be collected from students for enrolment purposes. Assessment records are kept as required by the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA), the Training Accreditation Council (TAC). Information is also collected during the provision of training and assessment services. This is for the purpose of processing your registration for a REIWA Learning course and as required by the Real Estate and Business Agents Supervisory Board (REBA), the Australian National Training authority (ANTA), the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) the Training Accreditation Council (TAC) and the Office of Training Western Australia.
- REIWA Learning may conduct student surveys to collect information on the training provided.
- Personal and professional information is collected from staff and trainers to enable REIWA Learning to assess the professional standards of staff and trainers.
Confidentiality
REIWA Learning will ensure the safeguarding of any confidential information obtained regarding participants. Furthermore, REIWA Learning is committed to safeguarding any confidential information obtained by the RTO and committees, individuals or organizations acting on its behalf.
Disclosure of Information
REIWA Learning ensures that information gathered for the express purpose of training and assessment matters will not be disclosed to a third party without the prior expressed written permission of the individual concerned. REIWA Learning may be obliged to disclose information to relevant bodies as required by law, including ANTA and Training Accreditation Council or as otherwise allowed under the Privacy Act 1988. If the required information is not provided, REIWA Learning may not be able to provide training courses to students effectively or at all.
REIWA Learning ensures the secure storage of all records and the confidentiality of all information maintained on records.
- REIWA Learning will provide participant information to training staff or consultants on a need-to-know basis only.
- REIWA Learning only uses information collected for the expressed purpose for which it was collected unless prior consent is obtained from the person.
- REIWA Learning does not use personal details (specifically photographs or names) in direct marketing without obtaining prior expressed permission from the person concerned.
- REIWA Learning may use personal details to advise students of forthcoming events and training courses, for direct marketing and research purposes, however, only where individuals have provided their consent to receiving such information.
